Read MoreHello again, friends! So glad to be back from my ‘pause.’ I’d like to get more intentional about this subject here. This particular pause was, not unlike the Covid pandemic pause, a ‘pushed’ pause--------in other words, I was pushed into it, without much choice. And yes; sometimes we need this, particularly in our fast-paced, constantly busy present American society; we don’t often create our own intentional and purposeful pauses.
Read MoreWhat is a LIMITING BELIEF?
It’s a state of mind, belief or conviction that you think to be true, that limits you in some way. It could be about you, your interactions with others, or with the society and world and how it works. These limiting beliefs often have a number of negative effects. They can keep you from making good choices, taking new opportunities and of reaching your potential. In other words, they keep you STUCK in a negative state of mind (mindset) and can prevent you from living the life you truly desire and dream of.
Read MoreHere’s a bit of a bold statement: In our present, everyday world, we don’t take words seriously enough!
I’m not saying that we should take life or ourselves too seriously nor that we should sweat the small stuff. But we do need to watch our words, not only those we use to express ourselves in the world but, more important, those we say to ourselves.
Read MoreWhy was I so interested in so many different things: art, science, history, languages, travel and on and on? To me, the world is a big place, full of adventure, experiences and things to discover. I’m not the only one. We multipassionate humans or curiosity creatures, as I have named us, are intensely interested in so many things. We are often told that we are ‘too much……..’.It’s taken me and perhaps you, a long time to accept myself as I am and even like these curiosity, love of learning and creative labels I’ve been given.
Read MoreThe truth is that if you would just focus on yourself and your life, who you are and what you’d like to express and give to the world, there would be a lot less comparing (and gossiping) and a lot more personal joy and fulfillment.
Read MoreThough the concept, feeling and behaviors of self-love have been around for as long as we humans (homosapiens) have, it is only in the last few decades that we’ve been talking about it, as a society.
You may feel that loving yourself first (self-love) is selfish but it’s not; it is self-ish, though. I’ll explain…………..

To begin this system or framework of mindset change, there is an outline to follow that is simple, efficient and practical.
Read MoreHowever you happen to ‘see’ the world, know that you can change your view or your perspective, if you choose to understand that each one of us (humans, I mean) has a slightly or very different view, or ‘filter’ for life.
Read MoreWe have been hearing, reading and learning much about the mind/body connection in recent years. As a mindset coach (life coach nyc) and hypnotherapist, I know the importance of understanding this ‘pairing’ and of also connecting: the conscious and subconscious minds and the two cerebral hemispheres of our brain (left and right).
Read MoreNow, we get to the ‘good part’: post-traumatic growth (PTG). Not many folks hear of or understand the good that can come from the experience of trauma; of any or all kinds. It can change your life and even allow you to become WHO you really and authentically are, and understand WHAT you’re meant to do.
Read MoreJust as each one of us is unique, our trauma is also unique, specific and personal. I’ll share a bit of my own story of trauma----the real sadness, struggling, feeling of being stuck and more.
Read MoreThis time, let’s talk more about IDENTIFYING and HEALING trauma.
Many, if not most of us, have experienced some kind of trauma in our lives: Big T or Little T trauma, and may not even know it. We just know that something is off, not right, empty, unfulfilling….You may feel stuck, conflicted, sad, stressed, unfulfilled, uncomfortable…..or have different TRAUMA RESPONSES: hypervigilance, dysregulated nervous system, ‘automatic’ reactivity instead of responsiveness, high levels of fear, anxiety, chronic illness, anxiety and/or depression disorders, ‘fight or flight’ and dissociation responses and more. It is essential to recognize these and understand that they may be part of survival or coping mechanisms in response to trauma that you may have experienced. Taking this first step to IDENTIFY and to not minimize this experience of trauma, is vital to healing it. Getting help and support (ie: therapy, coaching, medical care) is often necessary on this healing journey.
Just know this…… You are not alone! So many of us have had some kind of trauma in this life, myself included. In my case, it includes intergenerational, as well as developmental trauma. (Please refer to my previous blog for a definition and foundational facts about trauma).
Read MoreIt’s time……..to talk about trauma, which so many of us live with, including yours truly (intergenerational mostly).
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve experienced Big T trauma or Little T trauma. Most of us have been through some kind of trauma, whether big, small or tiny. Though we may like to think otherwise, most of us humans did not have perfect childhoods.
Read MoreThroughout history, trees have been a source of beauty and wonder and have sparked our imaginations. Trees have inspired painters, writers, poets, philosophers and more.
It’s little wonder. Trees are good for the heart and the soul. They represent life, growth, nature and peace.
Trees are essential. They provide us with breathable air, food and even shade and shelter for protection. They give us hope and insight and are a stunning example of true strength, courage and perseverance in the face of harsh conditions and adversity.
There is so much to enjoy, learn and appreciate from and about trees that can be examples for your own life-----of power, beauty, courage, perseverance and the importance of caring for them (and ourselves). Here are some…….
Read MoreMy mindset coaching clients may chuckle when they see this line, “Now, give yourself a pat on the back.” They know that this suggestion is meant literally. This action often makes them laugh and, at the very least, smile. This smiling, in itself, changes your mindset.
Let’s get to the idea and action of giving yourself a pat on the back. This starts as a symbolic gesture-----to pause and take the time needed to appreciate your WINS, whether big or small, personal or professional.

You can ‘observe’ yourself, work through it (with the help of a Mindset Coach, Hypnosis, therapist, etc.) and come out the other side healthier, happier, with increased inner strength, gratitude and even a new career and lifestyle that you love!
