Self-Hypnosis/Self-Talk

One of my intentions is that you be able to hypnotize yourself and/or learn more positive self-talk, so that you can change your negative thinking and belief patterns and therefore, your subsequent behaviors and actions.

Here are some pointers for self-hypnosis/ self-talk:

-When you hear yourself in negative self-talk, before you start spiraling down into it, say to yourself: stop, stop, stop or cancel, cancel, cancel.

-When you try to stop or cancel your negative thought or phrase, try to follow it immediately with a positive affirmation. For example, a negative thought might be something like, “I never find anyone good for me (for a relationship).” The corresponding affirmation may be, “I will find the right person when the time is right for me.” This also decreases doubt and increases certainty.

-Breathe. If you pay attention, you’ll find that when you’re anxious about something, you stop yourself from breathing deeply. Breathing becomes shallow and rushed. So, be aware and take deep breaths. This deep breathing can help to balance your brain chemistry so that you can be more productive.

-Watch your words. Be clear and aware of what you’re saying and expressing.

-Try not to use negatives like: can’t, shouldn’t, don’t, etc. This is not an easy one, particularly if you are a parent. Just pay close attention to what you say. Your subconscious ‘listens’ carefully, even if you’re not aware of it. Whatever you say to yourself, even if it’s just pretend, the subconscious (or unconscious) will believe as truth, therefore, it’s really up to you if you make your truth positive. If you do, positive situations will come back to you.

-If you have a business and are an employer or a manager and you have employees, do make sure that the messages you are giving them are positive ones, that the words you are using are positive. Lots of positive statements help them as they help you as you speak to yourself this way. As the subconscious hears the messages that you give yourself, so your employee’s or colleague’s subconscious hears and the messages you are giving them can be self-fulfilling, thereby hurting them or healing them, depending on the words you are using.

Our words are oh, so powerful! Please use them with care. They can help or hinder you and others.

In September 2013, I will start monthly, intimate group seminars. Our subjects may include: hypnosis, wellness and what this means, life coaching/hypnosis ‘partnering’, etc. and whatever else the group decides that they want to speak about, work through and discover. I look forward to seeing you there. If you are interested in attending, please email me.

All the best,
Dr. Gigi
